The 2019 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru is closed at first, sporting a strong sea influence with a tang of seaweed. The palate is very well defined with lemon verbena, orange zest and light almond notes. This fans out wonderfully on the finish with one of the longest finishes amongst Lamy’s whites. As Kazakhstan reporter Borat would say: “Niiice”.

The 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, peach, white flowers and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it’s textural and enveloping, with an ample, elegantly layered core, lively acids and a long, saline finish.

Ripe aromas of citrus confit, spice and mineral reduction slide gracefully into dense and solidly voluminous flavors that also exude a refreshing salinity on the clean and dry finish where a hint of bitter lemon slowly emerges. This will need to develop more depth to merit the top end of my predicted range, but the potential is there. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*
