Description
By Neal Martin of Wine Advocate in 2016 (WA91)
The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes has a bright, slightly earthy bouquet, one that perhaps needs a little more cohesion to develop by the time of bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly grainy textured entry. The acidity is nicely judged with nicely poised red berry fruit, so open on the finish that you could quite happily take away a bottle and drink it now. Probably best enjoyed with the first 8-10 years
By Allen Meadows of Burghound in 2017 (AM92)
Discreet but not invisible wood frames an equally spicy and appealingly fresh array of pomegranate and red cherry aromas. The seductive medium-bodied flavors possess a caressing and very rounded mouth feel before concluding in a dusty, sappy and lingering finale. The 2015 Chaumes is a wine of finesse.
