Aromas of orange oil, crisp yellow citrus fruit, white flowers and wet stones introduce the 2018 Santenay 1er Cru Clos des Gravières, a medium to full-bodied, textural and incisive wine that’s deep and multidimensional, underpinned by a lively spine of acidity and concluding with a mineral finish.

A markedly floral-suffused nose reflects notes of various white-fleshed fruit, citrus and discreet earth wisps. There is once again a lovely underlying tension to the delineated and stony middle weight flavors that deliver fine length on the delicious finish that isn’t quite as dry though it’s still quite crisp.
