Description
By Wine Enthusiast in 2017 (WE94)
With its 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a wine that is structured while marked with intense black currants. It has firm tannins and just a touch of wood. It is classic upright Bordeaux with its fine acidity and dry tannins. It will need to age, drink from 2024.
By James Suckling in 2017 (JS94)
Lots of blackberries, dried mushrooms and minerals. Blackcurrants too with some tar. Full-bodied, chewy and rich with an intensity and liveliness on the finish. Salty and minerally.
By Wine Spectator (WS93)
Sleek and refined, with black currant and plum fruit, laced with a hint of raspberry coulis, while subtle tobacco and roasted alder notes form the frame. Features a tight, racy feel through the finish.
By Decanter (D92)
Beautifully expressed and polished aromas showing Lafite’s wild violets, very fine texture, balance and length.
