Description
By Wine & Spirits in 2007 (W&S96)
The platinum color immediately sets this wine apart, then the opulence of its fruit may attempt to draw you in-layer upon layer of evanescent flavor, from candied apple to dry apricot and nectarine-until the potency of the mineral structure establishes the wine’s grand cru credentials. As seductive as the honeysuckle and citrus scents may be, as broad as the texture may feel, the wine is completely closed off, and will likely remain unyielding until it’s rested in the cellar for ten years or more. The sense of humidity in the soil-the limestone essence-will sustain it.
By Wine Spectator in 2006 (WS94)
Broad, ripe and powerful, this white fills the mouth with butterscotch, lime and peach notes, getting liveliness from its bright acidity. Culminates in a kaleidoscope of fruit and oak spice on the long finish.
